Join us for a 4-week live virtual training focused on trauma-informed meditation training for addiction with emphasis on nervous system regulation, and mindfulness practices for recovery and behavioral health settings. This training is designed for providers, peer support specialists, yoga teachers, and healthcare professionals who want to confidently lead grounding and meditation practices in groups.

Training Format

  • Fridays in July

  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST

  • Live Zoom classes (recordings available if you cannot attend live)

  • Includes approximately 8 hours of coursework outside of these recordings

  • Participants must facilitate five 20-minute guided meditations to receive a certificate (one will be completed during the course on the last day)

Your Mentors

Lacey Leonard

Founder, Embodied Recovery Mentor, YTT200

Lacey is a lifelong student of holistic practices including, yoga, Ayurveda medicine, and nutrition. She graduated from VCU with a degree in Sculpture and extended media in 2015 and recieved her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2019. Lacey currently uses her creativity to develop trainings for Bhavana Recovery Collective and in her professional career. Lacey Leonard is currently the President of Into Action Recovery and Wellness Center, an outpatient treatment program for adults with substance use disorder located in Roanoke, Virginia. When she is not helping others find peace in their own recovery path, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading.

René Williams

René is a certified Peer Support Specialist and Embodied Recovery Mentor with Bhavana Recovery Collective, as well as a committed student of mindfulness and meditation practices. With over ten years of experience in the care field, she brings a holistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to her work grounded in lived experience and daily personal practice. René primarily supports individuals in substance use recovery, with a focus on grounding and nervous system regulation. She also serves in community-based recovery settings. When she is not facilitating groups, René enjoys spending time in nature, creative practices, reading, and aerial yoga.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Currently Bhavana is not registered to offer CEU’s (working on it!). However, we believe this training is so beneficial to peers and providers alike, not just for your clients but for yourself. Think of it as a personal investment in your well-being as a care-giver.

  • Trainees are required to read the manual before begining the training. The manual is about 40 pages long. All other course work will be done within the training. There’s no homework, no quiz, just practice.

  • • Complete Bhavana Recovery core training (live or hybrid model)

    • Lead 5 (30min) meditations under supervision (in-person or virtual)

    • Submit integration reflection and facilitator pledge. (Completed at the end of the training)

    *Your certificate will be sent to you after these requirements are met and your Mentor will guide you through the process.

  • Because our program is available online, the trainings purchases are non-refundable. You will still gain access to all recorded meditations, the manual, and any material covered during the training, even if you cannot attend the live portion.
